just a really good “fuckin everything is going wrong nothing makes sense fuck me” movie. it’s hard to complain about the output of one of cinema’s greatest artists but I wish scorsese had more weird funny filmic digressions like this.
unfortunately made in the worst era of moviemaking ever and bears all the hallmarks of the time period but this is a pretty good entry in a sub-genre of horror we don’t have many quality entries of. not exactly graceful in walking the line between being a dark comedy, coming-of-age drama, and a werewolf movie but the analogue between adolescent struggles and slowly, helplessly watching your body change into that of a monster is nice, and the practical werewolf stuff really pays off once the movie finally gets around to it.
here is my review of every season of Game of Thrones, which i have watched all of within the last couple of weeks:

s4: this is the best season
s5: this is the worst season
