Senior Year 2022
One of the most awkward movies I’ve seen in a long time. Paramount knew what it was doing sending this one to Netflix. It had some entertainment value and a killer soundtrack. However, Rebel Wilson and the humour just did not land. It’s also way WAY too long.

Lolita 1962
James Mason is well cast as Humbert Humbert, as his characters often have a smarmy, desperate feel to them. Peter Sellers does seem a bit shoe-horned into some scenes, and Kubrick did expand his role. On this viewing, however, his manic, off kilter comic relief was a welcome counterbalance to Humbert’s frantic, relentless obsession with Lolita.
Sue Lyon is strong in the title role, finding the right mixture of curiosity, bemusement, and disgust. Shelley Winters is excellent, playing the thankless role…
