The Irishman

The Irishman ★★★★

This is an overly long and dreadfully sad affair. I can't deny Scorcese's masterful direction, the excellent performances all around, and the beautiful cinematography. But something is keeping this out of my favorite Scorcese films. This is certainly an historic achievement considering the star power involved. If that's all you care about then I'd absolutely recommend it. Even the small interactions between the cast members are very compelling. Unfortunately this whole thing felt like Scorcese imitating himself.
