I think that this movie had a lot of things to accomplish. It had to setup for justice league, establish a new batman, and have a story of its own. Because of all of this, it did a lot of things right, but it also did a lot of things wrong. For example, it had an amazing soundtrack, and some great action sequences. The opening 20 minutes of the movie was amazing. It helped to establish the conflit between batman and superman, and was also my favorite depiction of the murder of Thomas and Martha Wayne. The casting choices for batman and wonder woman were both fantastic. My thoughts on lex luthor however, are more conflicted. I feel that he did a good job with the material given as the character he was playing, but that the character that he was playing was not lex luthor. This is not necessarily bad, just different. I think that the biggest flaw of the movie is that for most of the runtime, there is no discernible main plot. It jumps from plotline to plotline, while it is not necessarily confusing, it does damage the quality of the overall narrative by making it harder to follow. In the end, I enjoyed a lot of things about the film, but thought that it trued to accomplish to much with its current runtime. Hopefully the directors cut will help resolve these issues. OveralI, would give this film a 7/10. It wasn't great, but it certainly wasn't bad.
