Trent Walton’s review published on Letterboxd :
I found Paddington 2 thoroughly entertaining and charming.
Sometimes family movies feel stock—churned out to fill the gaps in the year so that there’s always something kids can see in theaters—complete with “slapped on” beat-drop-anthropomorphized-twerk scenes (ahem, Ferdinand, Madagascar, etc.)
There’s lots of love in Paddington (2) though.
Like Coco, it’s a kiddo movie I’d rewatch anytime.
- Ben Whishaw voicing Paddington is perfect
- Solid gags and pratfalls—the kids were rolling
- Hugh Grant was an A+ master of disguise
- Got a Pushing Daisies vibe w/ everything so colorful & coordinated
