  Though The Dual is societal satire - it imagines a world that is not too far from our own; desensitized & hellbent on survival.

  Firestarter is an entirely competent horror movie which embraces the Blumhouse standard of doing the most with the least. It's a b-movie for 2022.

  Ryan Kiera Armstrong is a star & John Carpenters score soars. Unfortunately, even that can't save a lackluster script & an uninspired production design.

  (Firestarter also has my favorite opening credits of 2022)
