Throw Down 2004
What if Paul Thomas Anderson made a movie about Judo Martial Arts? That's what Johnnie To's Throw Down felt like to me, and I don't mean to say his directorial style or the cinematography in his film was some copy of PTA, I simply mean he feels like a kinship to one of my favorite directors. This is the first film I've watched by To, but I can't wait to find more. I loved everything about this film.

Some slow spots but overall really creative and engaging camerawork and editing.

The Green Knight 2021
Beautifully shot with fantastic camerawork, and the performances are engrossing...I just wish I could say the same about the plot. Everything in the middle of this film feels without purpose almost, and it's as if there are no stakes. Him losing Everything then immediately getting his equipment back really made me scratch my head. I feel like I was so lost until he made it to the Green chapel.
It's a very conflicting film overall. I loved watching and experiencing it,…
