My sincerest apologies to Mr. Gunn. I was totally wrong about this movie the first time I watched it. Going in the first time, I was severely disappointed that this didn't deliver on a whole lot of story. But I now realize just how much I missed the point of the film - that being, the way that abused and broken people find their place in the universe and their own happiness. All of the family relationships that receive closure in this, it's just hard not to admire it. Not only did this rewatch drive me to so many feels, but it got me to appreciate just what makes GOTG work so well. That, and the camerawork and special effects rock, and it features one of the most effective villains in Ego.

Consider this my major turnaround for MCU films.
