Jojo Rabbit

Jojo Rabbit ★★★½

A kid believing only what hears from those around him learns to love and accept someone different from him, in the midst of tumultuous political tensions. I can't think of a better modern parable for our current time. What some might see as a tad too sentimental, I see as a testament to Waititi's ability to insert a lovable coming-of-age story into an off-beat narrative that robs the Nazis (and by extension, Hitler) of their power. In that, we learn the greatest, and simplest, lesson of all: love prevails over hate. Absolutely brilliant.
