    The new GHOSTBUSTERS is a fun ride. It pretty much follows the same exact formula as the original classic, set in a universe where the original '84 GHOSTBUSTERS doesn't exist, so that was a little disheartening, but the cameos were pretty cool. A good popcorn & soda movie, for sure.

    A good film. A great film? I don't think so. It definitely had moments of greatness, in which I recalled the greatest of all sci-fi epics like this Christopher Nolan picture wanted to be –– 2001: A SPACE ODYSSEY –– which was a welcomed nostalgia, but the twists I saw coming from a while away.     I'll be honest, it's been a while since I've seen a movie that's moved me the way this one did. WHIPLASH is a superb piece of cinema in the truest sense, with an intensity (partially created by the style of editing, which is worth studying in and of itself) that has reinvigorated my own spark to tell stories through the lens of a movie camera.
