Cheap and atrocious.
This movie rips off the styles of so many other filmmakers and films that it has no identity of its own. Everything feels like Fake Oliver Stone, Fake Tarantino, Fake Peckinpah, Fake Saw, Fake Zombie, and so on. Zero originality here, and even worse, no attempt at originality.
And I've seen some people praising the acting. I have no idea what movie they were watching, but it certainly wasn't this thing, which is filled with represensible characters that scream and sweat and convulse their way through every scene.
Don't believe the hype. This movie was silly and a chore to get through.
From the first rumblings in 2013 that this movie was happening, I thought it was clear what type of film this would be. Apparently, this was not so apparent to a lot of movie-goers and critics, and they are using their misconceptions about what his movie is about to unfairly judge it. So before I tell you what this movie is, let me tell you what this movie is NOT. 3 big things jump immediately to mind:
#1, IT'S NOT…
This is a movie that seemed designed to piss me off. I was irritated with this movie by the 15 minute mark and it only got worse. By the time I reached the end, I was actively angry at the movie for wasting my time and assuming that its audience is as stupid as its writers.
This is the type of film populated by stupid people that do stupid and dangerous things for the sake of advancing the plot. Nothing…
