    The Cloverfield Paradox


    I have loved the Cloverfield series so far. The original film remains my favorite "found footage" film ever, and 10 Cloverfield Lane was also very cool, albeit in a totally different genre from the original.

    The Cloverfield Paradox continues this trend of "spiritual sequels" to the original film that cross into new genres. This time it is science-fiction, which is new. What is also new is that this one is boring, and that is the doom of this film.

    Despite the uneven tone, Bright was still a fairly enjoyable, if uneven, movie. Will Smith turns in the performance you'd expect from him (I think the guy only has one gear these days, I swear), and that's a positive thing for most people. Myself, I think I'd like to see more actual ACTING from him again.

    The biggest flaw in this movie for me is that it cannot decide whether it wants to be a gritty urban drama with fantasy…
