Deeper appreciation for the score the second time around. The technical aspects of this film are nothing short of breathtaking.
Might be my #1 of 2018.
Not really understanding the hatred for this film. It’s not amazing by any means, but it was a pretty enjoyable romp. The CGI is a little rough, for sure. Tom Hardy is super likable as Eddie Brock. The Venom/Eddie dialogue was always undeniably funny. The fight between Venom and Riot was honestly pretty cool, just a little too short. I think Riz Ahmed did a pretty nice job as the villain as well. Pretty believable character. Didn’t really have major…
Completely spectacular. Incredible work by the entire cast. Sam Elliot is a gem. Loved seeing Dave Chapelle. And of course, both Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga blew me away.
Bradley Cooper is a GIFTED director. Incredible camera framing and exceptional use of lighting and colors.
Lady Gaga sure as hell better be invited to the Oscars as well as the Grammys!!! Hopefully Bradley shows up sober this time around.
First thing’s first: let’s make sure Claire Foy gets that Oscar, alright Academy? Cool, thanks.
Absolutely stunning achievement. Technical mastery supported by gripping performances, namely from Ryan Gosling and the aforementioned Foy, all which resonate on a surprisingly deep emotional level.
At times chaotic and dizzying, at times completely zen and tranquillic, First Man slowly yet POWERFULLY tells this incredible story.
The score is INCREDIBLE. I’m listening to it on Spotify right now and hoooooly shit. Amazing.
Damien Chazelle is…
