FILM #4 OF MY FIRST QUADRUPLE FEATURE - SEEING 4 FILMS IN THEATERS IN A SINGLE DAY
The fourth and final film of my epic undertaking - four films, one day. Rocketman, 9:30 showing.
It was great.
Taran Egerton deserves all the praise he’s gotten so far, and then some. Truly a remarkable performance, Oscar worthy without any doubt. Jamie Bell was phenomenal as well. Elton and Bernie’s friendship was one of the most wholesome and beautiful parts of any film I’ve seen this year.
Really original film, definitely falls in line with some unavoidable biopic cliches, but throws in some really trippy surreal sequences and splendid musical moments.
While Rocketman isn’t exactly a masterpiece of filmmaking, it is overall a well paced, fantastically well acted, intimate, entertaining and thoroughly satisfying musical biopic, possibly the best one yet.
