Groundhog Day is my mother's favorite movie of all time. After fifteen years, five months, and 25 days of being told to watch it, I finally have, and I can soundly say it's not mine.
It's very funny and original, but it takes a WHILE to get going. But when it does, oh boy, it gets going.
Unlike Tom Cruise's Edge of Tomorrow, there's no clear goal for our hero, which allows him to have a bigger of variety of things to do.
Also unlike Edge of Tomorrow, Groundhog Day's pacing is a bit uneven and I had trouble relating to the characters or really gripping to the narrative until a solid 45 minutes through, which leaves me to prefer the former.
