Once upon a Tom... in Hollywood’s review published on Letterboxd:
Wasn't it Tom Petty who said the waiting is the hardest part?... I represented his wife in their divorce. I got her *half* of that song.
This one's the real deal, folks. Telling the story of a divorce, from amicable mediation to the ugliness of court proceedings, this film is a true showcase of Noah Baumbach's skills as a writer and the incredible acting talents of Scarlett Johansson and Adam Driver. Throw in fantastic supporting performances by Laura Dern, Alan Alda and Ray Liotta. Seriously, just give this all the writing and acting awards.
I was completely invested in the relationship, to the point that I was choking up by the end. It is just SO GOOD. Highly Recommended!
