It's a fun and nostalgic kids' adventure, but something about it feels a little off. It's like it's too polished, as though someone obsessively studied the genre and created a textbook example of it. There just aren't any of the rough edges you'd expect if it actually was shot in Ohio in the late 1970s, though I feels like I'm complaining the kids and their compressed streaming music.

Singapore Sling is very pretty and deeply strange. It’s a kind of Grey Gardens thing by the way of The Texas Chain Saw Massacre, in which the two ladies are delusional and very horny. There is a lot going on here but the core story is actually pretty simple — a man is searching for his lost love and finds himself taken prisoner by the mother-daughter couple who killed her.
