What I think I like most about this is how it never seems to announce its own greatness. The first Tarantino to do this? Quite refreshing and shocking that it's operating in this manner, to be honest. Still need to figure out how I feel about the rejiggering of the last act and how its lack of imagination left me feeling a bit cheated. Also the complete lack of providing context for the flashback involving Pitt and his ex-wife is nagging at me especially since it’s never brought up again; and I don’t think QT is commenting on the idea of Rick giving Cliff a pass for such a supposed act in order to justify keeping him around as his gopher and leaving his potential violence running through this system unchecked. Interesting to think about but it feels oddly tossed off unless someone can convince me otherwise. But I had a ball luxuriating in the rest!
