João Caetano’s review published on Letterboxd:
When a man thinks of the past, he becomes kinder.
When the film ended, I just stayed there, staring at the screen. I had just witnessed something truly unique, extraordinary, transcendent: Andrei Tarkovsky's Stalker. My mind was dazzled and spinning. And this is the film, finally, that makes me question every other 5-star rating I've given.
Stalker approaches countless themes, some of which very slightly, but they are there. And it can be interpreted in many different ways, depending on how one sees the world. It is an absolute masterpiece.
Beyond every american classic, blockbuster, cult films, everybody should watch Stalker. It's a film that you should keep with you, forever. From here on, every time somebody talks about art, or masterful filmmaking, this will be the film that will pop in my head.
There isn't much to be said about Stalker, so it's pointless to be writing about it. After all, why does the man write?
