Wong Kar-wai’s first credited work, as screenwriter, it’s a teenage hangout flick centered around performing arts students that is mostly about nothing until, suddenly, the loosely sketched love triangle at its center becomes sinister and a perilous tale of British cocaine is thrown in around the halfway point. There are so many scenes, none of them longer than a few minutes, many of them under a minute. It registers more as ambient noise than a movie but…
