  More of a drama than most Bond movies get to be. Slower pace, too. It's going to be interesting to see where the Bond movies go from here.

  I met Adam Sandler once. He was incredibly nice to one of my friends who was a super-fan, spending time with her and posing for pictures. He seemed like a genuinely wonderful human being.

  After watching this movie, I retroactively wish I'd taken the opportunity to punch him in the face.

  Eyes of the Spider 1998

  "This you must believe. Emptiness isn't misery. It's the beginning of something new."

  Eyes of the Spider is probably the first "true" Kurosawa film. Not his first stab at directing by far, but the first that allowed him full reign to explore his elliptical plotting and existential obsessions, wrapping his themes in moments of dark humor and unexpected staging.

  If you squinted your eyes a little, you could call it a sequel to his Serpent's Path, made two weeks earlier…
