Alicia is a good actress and really feels great as young Lara based on the latest reboot of video game series, but the script is very uneven. The first hour could be effectively cut down to 15min introduction. The ruthless villain is introduced well, but then just fizzles out. Lara's origin is believable overall and there are a few memorable and exciting key scenes from the game. Unfortunately, not enough time is spent on her abilities mainly because her time on the island is very short. Visually It was done well to a point that I couldn't confidently tell the spot where real actors end and digital stunt begins. I remember enjoying more previous two movies with Angelina Jolie even though they didn't follow any of the games so closely. I guess this just shows that more cinematic games do not easily translate into effective movie adaptation/interpretation.
