    Dog Day Afternoon

From its first shot, Dog Day Afternoon lives up to its title. We see a dog, mutilated, scrounging around in the rubbish - looking for food. Few images could as easily set the tone for a film about a character's strenuous attempts to fulfil the essential human need of love. As the film progresses and Pacino becomes sweatier, shorter of breath and jumpy, the dog comparison is even more apparent.
This film sells the desperation of feeling out of control of one's life better than most other films I've seen.

This was inspiring and heartbreaking, even for someone who only had a cursory history and knowledge of Ebert's life.

Dumb fun, until my suspension of disbelief ended with easily the worst twist in a franchise full of laws-of-physics challenging twists.

    For Scavenger Hunt 30 -

Welcome the rich man, he's hard for you to miss. His butt keeps getting bigger, so there's plenty there to kiss!

As someone who's only experience with anime is Dragon Ball and Naruto, this was very enlightening. Chihiro's quest to free her parents of their new found animorphism is as endearing as it is beautiful. Very. I did delay watching this one because of the stereotypes around the genre, but this has convinced to watch everything else by Ghibli.
