The best way to talk about Malignant is probably not to try and explain it, but I haven't felt this way about a horror movie since Drag Me to Hell. There's at least three scenes that give me the same gleeful sensation that Sam Raimi habitually delivered, and it gradually shifts into higher gears both visually and conceptually. I didn't think James Wan had this in him. It feels like he got away with something.
