Liked it more this time. Could definitely be added to a list of comfy movies. Actually laughed out loud a handful of times. Church and Giamatti are great together

This is 100% a Cronenberg movie—not just in its subject and content, but in all the ways his classic films are kinda quirky, kinda B-grade, kinda trashy. He is not sacrificing these elements for what modern/unfamiliar audiences expect of how performances, and dialogue, and design(?) are reconciled with tone and mood—this ain’t Blade Runner 2049, or Annihilation, or any other prestigiously oriented dramatic sci-fi film. It’s wonky, weird, and emotionally dissonant.
