"I no longer have inspirations, only recollections"
Antonioni loves to juxtapose decadence and ennui. I still remember the first time i saw L'Avventura i was mesmerized beyond belief.Behind the lost and found premise many questions were lurking underneath the surface. He treats boredom in melancholic hues;all the actors are in great form here.My fav part was when the ravishing Monica Vitti enters the proceedings. Her beauty and vulnerability melts my heart. The film really picks itself up once Marcello and Moreau attend the party and what follows. The swimming pool sequence, the dark silhouettes and the low key yet powerful ending are some the key aspects for me.
