An emotional experience for many reasons. This was the first time I had been in a theater for a year. Incredibly (and mercifully) my friend and I had the entire theater to ourselves so the anxiety of being in a crowded room disappeared and I was also free to blubber all I wanted without worrying about embarrassing myself. The show itself is a monumental piece of art made even better by the work of Steven Spielberg, Tony Kushner and EVERY single performer. I had the honor of knowing Leonard Bernstein and I only wish he could be here to see what love and care has been taken with his “baby”.
