  • Black Panther

    Black Panther

This doesn't get better with time. I love most of the main cast and the entire concept. The story is kinda simple and not that interesting though.
Don't get me wrong, the movie is good. It's just not as good as everyone thought when it came out.

  • Toy Story 4

    Toy Story 4

This was great. There was a bit of a break in the illusion when the toys interact a bit too much in the human world regarding the car scene in the last act. Apart from that I really enjoyed it.
Also, Bo peep was freaking badass!

  • Red Rock West

    Red Rock West

I loved this as a 'friday night movie'. Nothing out of the ordinary, just a solid hidden gem.

  • Justice League vs. the Fatal Five

Justice League vs. the Fatal Five

Starboy and Cruz really worked well in this one. Overall it was one of the better animated DC films. Worth a watch if you're into this kind of film

  • Tenet

It's James Bond... on speed... In reverse!

  • Nightcrawler

Different, weird, original. I loved the characters. I liked the critique of the capitalt society that brings people to do unspeakable things. I like the critique of the populist media. I liked that there are morality in the form of a couple of 'sane' characters to show that it's the system that is wrong, not the people (at least not all or them.) All in all very worth a watch.

  • Queen of Hearts

    Queen of Hearts

As with so many other danish films, this does not make you feel good. It has an interesting premise, some excellent acting by Trine Dyrholm and acts as a very interesting character study of a person whom we both understand and dislike at the same time. All in all it is one of the better danish films in newer time but I still think it could've been done as a shortfilm as the premise really doesn't hold up a full time film that well.

  • Face/Off

Slow motion, white doves, religious icons and clichées en masse. Oh but also the most insane plot and acting ever. It is imposible to be bored when watchong this film. Why are you even reading this? Go ahead and watch it!

  • Nocturnal Animals

    Nocturnal Animals

This thriller-in-a-romance-shaped-can worked better than I thought it would. When we read a book we get the themes and have to figure out what they mean for ourselves. In this film we get to watch how the author of a book portraits his inner demons and regrets and it just works.
The strengths of the film are also it's weaknesses though:

For makes brillant compositions and his actors play their hearts out. The ending leaves me wanting more and thing…

  • Shin Godzilla

    Shin Godzilla

In a time or Covid-19 this pretty acurately describes how governments struggle to handle unforseen complications and how the people must come together to defeat the threat.

  • Rogue One: A Star Wars Story

Rogue One: A Star Wars Story

I remember this as better than it is. Especially the first part on Jedah is filled with bad acting and heavy exposition. It is still a great adventure if you crave more Star Wars and does the thing 99% of all prequels fail to: it actually ups the stakes for Leia and the rebel alliance and makes the original trilogy even better. Compare this to something like 'solo' that demystifies and overexplains a character so much that almost like him less in the originals.

  • Joker

What a stellar, stellar performance from Phoenix!

Now that we got that out of the way: why did this have to be about Joker? The film doesn't utilize anything from the batman universe except the names. If this was just a movie about a guy decending into madness I think I would've liked it a lot better.

Don't get me wrong, I don't mind new takes on comic universes but this does nothing with said universe other than cash in…
