Marie Antoinette 2006
The vibe in this is so much more accurate than the more calm, polite portrayal of all emotions and human interactions at this time. Marie Antoinette was like 14-20 years old when most of this was going on. She just wanted to party. I like the edgy period piece thing, and wish there were more of them...

Only God Forgives 2013
I think this film is brilliant. Above all, it's beautifully shot. Every scene has a slow brilliance - it's just great. I can see why some people don't like it - the plot isn't exactly up to much and I'm not even sure what happened at the end. But it doesn't matter for me - Drive was one of my favourite movies, and this kind of captures something of that in a way that's different enough to be good. It just looks and feels good.
