Buddy O’s review published on Letterboxd:
At it's core Shang-Chi is a fantasy martial arts movie first and a superhero movie second.
Shang-Chi is top tier marvel. The use of CGI and intertwining the elements with the excellent fight choreography results in the best action scenes Marvel has to offer.
The scenery, landscapes and the larger than life mythical creatures makes this an excellent fantasy movie in itself.
Destin Daniel Cretton crafted a great addition to the MCU and his talent along with the crew behind Shang-Chi would do justice to a live action DBZ movie. (One can only hope)
The heart pounding score excels at keeping you immersed and the comedy from Awkwafina and Benedict Wong keep you laughing in the storys downtime.
It's been a while since we had all round audience pleaser, if you were on the fence about seeing Shang-Chi, do yourself a favour and jump in.
