This has got to be one of the most mind melting films I've ever watched. Satoshi Kon's final feature length outing easily showcases the best of his creative abilities. The visuals are just spectacular with a tense thriller plot earlier on that expands out into themes of self acceptance towards the end. Just absolutely wild from the opening moments to the blissful conclusion. My only real gripe is that Chiba's third act resolution is a bit heavy handed and out of nowhere. But aside from that this is as solid as film come.
