Started my cinema adventures for 2019 with this corker from the mind of Yorgos Lanthimos, the first film of his I've actually watched as well... The way his screenplay blurred the lines between strict genres was great and you were always left on the edge of your seat. Coleman, Stone and Weisz all offer up award winning performances as the central triad of this film and their supporting cast (especially James Smith & Hoult) were equally as good. Really liked the direction and variety of cameras/styles used this film definitely had an artsy feel to it but wasn't bogged down by trying to be a visual sceptical, that's just something it achieved easily regardless. I think the structure being forcefully split into acts did pull me out of the experience but huge props to the team behind the soundtrack that shit was so tense and nail biting, yet elegantly classic I LOVED all of it.
