    The Sea Beast

    ★★★★½

The Sea Beast is a stunningly beautiful animated story that the whole family can enjoy, with larger themes of anti-colonialism and historical whitewashing. Not only is it a visual spectacle, with a strong message, it's also got a stellar voice cast too. I loved it.

The more I think about Prey, the more I love its quiet confidence. It didn't need the Predator name, a legacy cameo or anything linking to its cinematic heritage. Just a fierce young Native American woman intent on proving herself.

To her Comanche tribe, and to all of us.

Black Widow finally gives Natasha a story of her own, and Scarlett Johansson a chance to shine as a character well past recieving her dues. We should have had it years ago, but it's here now and, honestly, it's really good. And welcome Florence Pugh to the MCU. Yelena is the MVP.

I was worried Parasite might be overhyped. No chance. It's a slick, thought-provoking yet entertaining satire on class, discrimination and the lengths people will go to to make their life better. Just when you think you know where it's going, it takes an unexpected turn. Superb!
