Holy shit, I fucking loved this. Definitely a solid return of Guy Ritchie to the crime genre. It gave me flashes of memory of my favorite crime movie of all time “The Departed” but in a more refreshingly funny way. Such an amazing acting display by this stellar 1A casting, brilliantly funny and splendidly unique. The plot keeps you engaged at all times and it grows as the movie progresses. This is surely one of the best films that will have come out in 2020, forget the critics and watch this.
This is the best film of Shia LaBeouf's career. After seeing this I feel an enormous amount of respect and empathy for this guy. It is an incredible raw and heartbreaking story based on his complicated relationship with his father. LaBeouf shows to us through this master work that his father's abuse was the fuel that kept his career floating. Amazing and 10/10 movie for me.
It is really incredible how this movie portrays Nazi Germany through a child's eyes and then how he changes his perspective. The change of tones were done flawlessly, the transition from comedy to tragedy was achieved perfectly, it accomplished its intention. The kid's performance is amazing.
