A dark Sci-Fi Messias Story with Timothee Chalamet as center person sounds so promising.
One hour into the film, it is still building up all the storylines, with a thin layer of spirituality and meaning in Paul’s Visions. Tension is created by slow and dark scenes, but the picture needs way too much sound to make things work (Hans Zimmer playing an all-in). The pacing is soooo slow, they might want to squeeze three movies out of the book.

Der Film ist situiert in der linken / Antifa-Szene in Mannheim - Radikalität gegen Radikalität. Herausragende Regie, tiefe Szenekenntnis, gute Schauspieler, politisch höchst relevant. Negativ schlägt das zerfasert geführte Drehbuch ins Kontor, vor allem im letzten Drittel. Die Hauptperson bleibt mit ihren zitternden Augen in all ihren Entscheidungen unergründlich. Für politische Aktualität und weitgehend neutrale und selbstkritische Erzählhaltung gibts ein halbes Sternchen extra im Rating.
