BlacKkKlansman

BlacKkKlansman ★★★★

BlacKkKlansman is a return to form for Spike Lee. It’s a subject that he’s obviously passionate about and it’s got a lot of significance in today’s world. This is one of his best films in a while.

BlacKkKlansman has an interesting tone. It’s lightly comedic, but it’s consistent and doesn’t make light of its heavy commentary on racism. I would even consider it to be an interesting spin on a buddy cop film mixed with some blaxploitation. John David Washington and Adam Driver make a fun duo to watch and Topher Grace (the whitest man of all time) is perfectly cast as David Duke.

The film is powerful and it doesn’t hold back. The ending was especially terrifying, but it’s important for people to see. This effort may motivate to explore Ron Stallworth’s life more in the future.

Also, Frederick Weller is an excellent rascist cop. I hated him so much. More than any of the Klan members.
