    This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.

    Themes Explained:

    After a second viewing and researching different theories for a couple of days, I realized there's so much more to this film than I initially thought. The surface level explanation of what literally happens is pretty straightforward, but there are themes and allegory that Peele has embedded in the film that require a bit more digging into. I’ve taken the ideas that stood out to me the most and compiled an interpretation that I think is closest to…

    Great -> 2020 Ranking (#1/15) & A Favorite Movie For Each Year I’ve Been Alive

    Woah. This movie was insane… one of the most tense and shocking theater experiences I’ve ever sat through. I’ve been a fan of Leigh Whanell for some time; I loved Saw, liked what he did with the Insidious franchise and Upgrade last year was a lot of fun. I think this is by far his best work. With this film, he takes the premise of an…

    Good -> 2020 Ranking (#7/35)

    This was actually good! Definitely better than most of Netflix’s other attempts at the genre. While formulaic in some ways and a bit too silly at times, I really connected with the characters and appreciated the realistic depiction of friendship in the film. The ending also had a good amount of emotional payoff without feeling overly cheesy. Overall, a surprisingly well made movie and refreshing to watch.

    Amazing -> All Time Favorites (#18)

    Man, what a film. Everything in this movie was on point, especially the performances from an insanely stacked cast. It was gripping the whole way through and full of jaw dropping twists that left me pretty blown away by the end of it. One of the most worthy Best Picture winners I've ever seen. Still bummed The Prestige wasn't even nominated though.

    Really Great -> 2019 Ranking (#3/132)

    Will probably have to watch it again before I can say it’s the best of the year but man... what a great film! It delivered even with my already sky high expectations. There’s not much I can say that hasn’t already been said, it’s pretty much excellent in every department. It touches on so many themes that it definitely warrants a second watch. So metaphorical.

    Amazing -> All Time Favs (#13) & A Favorite Movie For Each Year I’ve Been Alive

    I’ve been playing way too many video games lately so it’s actually been about a month since I’ve seen a movie. This was definitely a great choice to get me back in the zone and I can’t believe it took me this long to watch a David Lynch film, especially since Twin Peaks is my favorite tv show.

    As for Mulholland Drive, it’s pretty much…
