"I thought I'd fucked that up... forever"
"Forever is a long time"
For both better and worse, Army of the Dead feels like a desert after the feast that was Justice League, and while I don't think it was the best idea release this 2 months post the release of the Snyder Cut, it makes a lot of sense why to do so, because it's impossible anyone deny that he's the most popular director right now, and a really good one in my opinion
And even I thinking this is far from the best work in his filmography, with a overlong runtime and a story that could be more fleshed out, it still bangs. From the characters, that even if genetic, are all charismatic and fun to watch, and a immersive videogame-y aesthetic in how this flows
Every set-piece has this fun side to is, exploring really well the Vegas location, with a lot of bright expressive colors and a absolute digital warfare, but it also can be dark and bleak when it needs to, and surprisingly enough, the emotional conclusion in this movie hits hard, the epilogue was pretty unecessary though
