Olivia’s review published on Letterboxd:
I had a lump the size of a frog in my throat by the end of this.
The biggest praise in my household is, of course, that my girlfriend liked it and didn’t fidget.
There’s so much to unpack in this film. Entertaining for people who just want to watch a dark comedy that turns into a thriller halfway through, but at the same time provides material to discuss with any film-fan for years to come.
Everything works: the script, the music, the performances.
It’s tense, and it’s beautiful and it’s funny and gripping.
A healthy dose of social commentary and critique wrapped into an entertaining experience.
Just...an experience that left me breathless.
Also: I need to watch more Asian and other non-English films.
