Surpassed my low expectations--it's better than just another You're Next-style murder party. But since they were creative enough to make this not a total slog, it feels like they could've done a better job with any given element (suspense, jokes, gore, weirdness, class satire) to make the film a bit more memorable. The camp was a bit too "hype in the diap", as they say, to land for me. The best moments felt a bit like European 70s horror, but unfortunately the color grading was awful. I like Seth Cohen. Andie MacDowell requires better lines, thanks.
Very nice Anthropologie catalog photo shoot with a few bits cribbed from Hannibal season 1 that fails as both horror (no scares) and satire (very few jokes). Lots of potentially interesting ideas are seeded but in 2.5 hours, nothing is developed in any meaningful way.
