One of the great modern horror films; works on every level, as satire, as legitimate horror, as teen slasher, as critique of horror trope, everything. One of the best films in Wes Craven's filmography. Will be a classic for as long as horror film exists. I have to watch it at least once every Halloween season, no matter what. The other three films in the franchise, though enjoyable in their own ways, pale in comparison to its perfection. On a personal note, Neve Campbell was my partner's first real crush when he was a kid. He has good taste. What's your favorite scary movie?
