Though this film moves at a slow pace, don't underestimate the intensity with which it tells the story. Some scenes even had me physically shaking. The stark aesthetic this film creates is remarkable. I also appreciated how the lesbian themes emerge so naturally within the story. To me, nothing about this film screams "LGBT cinema," it's a film about war trauma. The relationship between the two leads is basically treated just like a straight relationship would be, and that's beautiful.
