Not the finest slasher movie I've ever seen, but it works. The kills, aside from being kind of underwhelming and all shoved in the first third, are sort of undercut by the fact that none of the victims actually act like they want to be alive. That being said, Cameron Mitchell is worth the price of admission alone. The middle chunk where he just monologues intercut with the girl who looks like "Exorcist II" Regan is pretty great stuff, only…

Out of the two Ghibli movies I've seen that I outright think are bad, this one is definitely more disappointing. Earwig seemed pretty doomed from the second you see their uncanny, "Toy Story 1" faces, but it really had to set in that this movie wasn't going to work. It starts off... kind of dull. This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.

I've been watching each "Star Wars" movie for what is basically the first time, and I'm absolutely over the moon that I finished the original trilogy and now get to watch the prequels which, if this is anything to go by, are absolutely stellar.

Explaining why this movie is so bad it would be news to precisely 0 people. The acting is absolutely terrible across the board (which, with talented actors like this, indicates more of a problem with the…

Why was this in black and white? It adds literally nothing; no scene is designed or lit or shot in such a way as to take advantage of it - no harsh shadows, no strong contrasts that you can make from only having black and white. The shot composition is nice and I'm not going to pretend like the movie isn't often pretty, but it literally just looks like a regular movie that somebody slapped a B&W filter over the top of. It's also not very good, but that's another story.
