The Godfather: Part II

The Godfather: Part II ★★★★★

"If anything in this life is certain, if history has taught us anything, it is that you can kill anyone."

Here's an example of a rare standalone sequel that doesn't stand in the shadow of its colossal predecessor. While the first imo bled slowly through its runtime this one does justice while telling the film as a prequel and sequel with it being 22 mins longer!! It does it right and I was enticed. The lavish sicilian sets, lush score, period awe costumes and a perfect focus eye from Coppola

This is also my personal favorite cause of Robert De Niro as a young Vito delivering his highlighted acting skills for his promising and influential career. From the fragile young homeless sicilian boy to a respected crime boss of a powerful mafia family it's just perfect and riveting.
