Waldo’s review published on Letterboxd:
Phantasm is one of my all time favorite childhood movies. The sequels I hated them with a passion but I was looking forward to this one to see how they could've ended the saga. Well, it's ambitious, it takes all the jokes and crap from the past sequels and it's an honest attempt to finalize with dignity. Nostalgia alone gave me a few chuckles here and there but the back and forth between Reggie and his million fucking dreams gave me fucking whiplash! The special effects from the original are better in 1979 than in 2016. Nice to see all of the original cast back but it's just not enough. Gotta admit, the ending made me a little sad.
