Still enjoyed it a great deal.
I think that it is a bit awkward that Tom Cruise has 3 different women competing for his affection, but I do think it is a bit more complex that a lot of people are giving it credit.
I completely agree that the kiss from the White Widow is not great. But the relationship between Ethan Hunt and Ilsa Faust is built on mutual respect and admiration for each others abilities. There are hints of romantic chemistry, but for me they recognize each others as equal.
I did notice (both viewings) several homages to other spy / foreign intrigue films. Charade and The Third Man come to mind.
The scene with Luther explaining Ethan's wife to Ilsa choked me up both viewings.
