Carl Hudson’s review published on Letterboxd:
I don't think Tarkovsky is for me. Mostly found this to be a repetitive bore, a philosophical treatise wrapped up as a film, a dull mix of Wizard of Oz and Waiting for Godot, with no characters, just symbolic stand-ins for philosophical and spiritual ways of thinking. Occasionally dreamy and beautiful, but mostly incredibly literal, filled with philosophical talk and ideas but not with story or characters. Sigh. Well. Two more films to go. Still think Andrei Roublev is Tarkovsky's best.
