Carl Hudson’s review published on Letterboxd:
I adore this film. It's the perfect movie to see with a crowd; it's tense as fuck, icky as hell, violent, bloody, and perfectly paced, with characters you hate, love and situations that just get bleaker and bleaker.
It's a tense thrill-ride full of darkness, despair, "holy shit"-moments and, in addition to all this, it is fun. So much fun. I wanna see it again just thinking about it.
This is, without a doubt, Frank Darabont's best film. Shawshank Redemption, eat your heart out. This is a true masterpiece.
