Ben’s review published on Letterboxd:
i didn’t understand what most of that meant but for an almost 3 hour long movie that was as slow as that, i was shocked at how engaging it was to me. it was gorgeous and dreamy and had so many big ideas that i’m sure i’ll be able to figure out one day. i don’t think i’ll be watching it again any time soon but eventually i’m definitely going to have to.
it was so similar to annihilation in so many ways, and although annihilation is easier to sit through and way more entertaining, this totally blows that out of the water conceptually.
also i cannot understate the fact that this is the only time i’ve ever felt physically exhausted after watching a movie like there’s no way i can watch anything else tonight i’m checked out
