School of Rock ★★★★

One aspect that further solidifies this film as a classic is the narrative of the parents. They straight up bought tickets to a rock concert to save their children from presumably being molested by Jack Black only to find that he turned them into a sick rock band.

Wholesome.

It also helps that this is the rare children's musical where the music is actually great. When the audience is losing their shit at the end, you absolutely believe it.

After spending a few days marathoning Jonathan Demme, it's funny how clearly influenced by his comedies this film is. Also the ending musical number feels straight out of Stop Making Sense, both with the cathartic shots of Jack Black shredding on guitar and the occasional cuts to the technicians offstage.
