There was respect and friendships among the Chinese and American workers. Yet the cultural differences on labor laws, language barriers, and harsh working conditions created an uprising in the workplace and a fight for union based labor laws that eventually led to a strike. If you strike you don’t work, you don’t work, you lose your job. It said at the end of the documentary, by the year 2030, 375 million people will have to find completely different jobs because of machine automation in the automobile industry. The future is coming, and it’s coming fast.
Side thought:Cao’s countless industrial accomplishments are the equivalent of the real life Lorax and it’s depressing.
